I have the plans for this. It comes with different levels of bling. This one is there, but not with the chevrons veneered on the back of the neck; only black with white stripes; I think. Something like a 675 mm scale length on gut strings. I have Aquila nyguts for it. WHEN i get to it! It has the low A doubled an octave up on both strings. They call it re-entrant tuning. It gives notes on in the middle of the staff, in case you need them. The low note is D. The video has the score through most of it. I didn't think to look, but the last part only went down to D. They were bling masters in the 1600 -1700's in Paris; If you had the money. If not they would make you a plane one. https://youtu.be/ngAfRN8QDVg?si=C8LDsNZb20vRmkA7 |

That's really something. Then as now, the level of art and beauty you can get when money is no object is astounding. I would guess now, it might actually be more difficult, as there are so few luthiers in Somogyi's league, who can deliver both the sound and the work of art. |
